Board President
Norman J. Kleiman, PhD is Director of the Eye Radiation & Environmental Research Laboratory (ERERL) at the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University in New York and is an internationally recognized expert on the effects of ionizing radiation on the eye.
Board Treasurer
Frederick Moss, CPA runs Marshall & Moss, an accounting firm providing auditing, accounting and administration services to clients in the private and nonprofit sectors.
Elaine C. Hall, PhD is the only totally blind woman to work in the field of vision research. She is a past recipient of FFS Summer Student and Post-Doctoral Fellowship Awards.
John M. LaSpina is president of Maple Family Centers, a Long Island-based, family-owned chain of bowling centers.John’s involvement with FFS spans five decades, beginning as a volunteer while in high school, working with our founder, Mildred Weisenfeld.
Anne Marie Prevost is an attorney with Sidley, Austin, LLP, in New York City, advising on SEC and State securities compliance issues.
Hilary J. Ronner, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a practicing ophthalmologist based in New York City. A graduate of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Ronner has enjoyed treating children and adults for over thirty-five years.
Joel S. Schuman, MD is Vice Chair of Ophthalmology for the NYU Langone Medical Center. He and his colleagues invented optical coherence tomography, a non-contact, non-invasive high-resolution in vivo imaging device now standard of care for clinical use worldwide for the diagnosis and management of eye disease.
Alec G. Silverstein is a graduate of Columbia University and works in private wealth management at Goldman Sachs. Alec joins FFS after previous involvement with EYEsee, an organization that supplies corrective eye glasses to impoverished communities throughout the world.
Gail Mosler Singer has always been involved in community and philanthropy. Her passion for Fight for Sight came early in life as her aunt, Mildred Weisenfeld, had founded the organization. Gail is also on the board of the Young Scholars Charter School and Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
